BSD COVID-19 Education, Attendance Monitoring & Case Prevalence

covidheader

On January 14, 2022, the Manitoba Government released its updated COVID-19 Education Plan, which included changes to how positive cases in schools will be communicated to the community. As a result, Public Health will no longer be sharing close contact notification and general notification letters on individual cases within our schools.

Brandon School Division will monitor absentee levels in our schools and schools will provide a morning and afternoon absenteeism update on their web pages. Please click on a school name below for direct access. If we see an increase to COVID-19 related student absenteeism, we will alert Public Health and follow their direction on communicating next steps with our school community.

Daily Prevalence:

  • Brandon School Division will provide a daily case prevalence for each school.
  • The daily case prevalence represents the self-reported positive cases for each school as of 3:30 pm for the previous 24 hours (Monday number will reflect the previous 72 hours to account for the weekend).
  • Please note that the numbers are not confirmed cases and may reflect positive PCR tests, positive rapid antigen tests, and presumed positive cases.
  • It should be noted that only cases reported by individuals are included.
  • The cases do not reflect exposures.

The priority of the Brandon School Division remains unchanged – the health, well-being, and safety of our students, staff, and community, in doing our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.   If your child has tested positive for COVID-19 (by a rapid antigen test or by a PCR test), please ensure that you notify your child’s school at your earliest opportunity.  This will help us with our monitoring and keep Public Health informed.

Should you have any questions, we encourage you to contact your child's school directly or contact:
